Not sure how much coffee you need?

Cups a week 250g bag
1-4 1 bag a month
5-8 2 bags a month
9-12 3 bags a month
13-16 4 bags a month

1 cup of coffee = a 240 ml serving based on a 1:16 brew ratio

For example, if your brew ratio is 1 to 16 (often expressed 1:16, or 1/16), then for every one part coffee, you use 16 parts water. In other words, to prepare 1 cup of brewed coffee you would use 15g of ground coffee and 240 ml of water.

Hinter dem Kaffee

We source this coffee from its producer, Sebastián Ramírez, the founder of the El Placer Farms project. His goal is to establish a direct connection between the coffee producers and the roasters, by eliminating intermediaries and offering coffees with a truly unique character.

The El Placer Farms project encompasses several farms and has sustainability as top priority. Using innovative irrigation systems on the farms and focussing on natural, environmentally friendly coffee processing methods minimises environmental impact. The future goal is to further reduce their ecological footprint and continue to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

This pink bourbon from El Placer grows at an altitude of around 1.800m a.s.l. and is a co-ferment with concord grapes. The process is 72 hours natural carbonic maceration and 120 hours of honey. Sounds pretty wild and is, too.

We should at this point stress the fact that this an absolutely crazy coffee. If you thought our Go Bananas and Watermelon Sugar coffees were wacky, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Tasting notes: Concord Grape, Bubblegum, Pitaya, Blueberry, Wild Strawberry, Açaí

We usually write these tasting notes to better understand and differentiate coffees. Sometimes these sensory impressions are fleeting, ephemeral and differ slightly with individual preparation and brewing recipes. Not this coffee. There is nothing subtle about it. It slaps you in your face, steals your croissant and makes off in your car. And that is a good thing. It is unique and delicious and a pirate at heart.
