Not sure how much coffee you need?

Cups a week 250g bag
1-4 1 bag a month
5-8 2 bags a month
9-12 3 bags a month
13-16 4 bags a month

1 cup of coffee = a 240 ml serving based on a 1:16 brew ratio

For example, if your brew ratio is 1 to 16 (often expressed 1:16, or 1/16), then for every one part coffee, you use 16 parts water. In other words, to prepare 1 cup of brewed coffee you would use 15g of ground coffee and 240 ml of water.

Hinter dem Kaffee

Aquiares is one of Costa Rica’s most historic coffee farms and sits high on the slopes of the Turrialba Volcano, nestled between the Aquiares and Turrialba Rivers. 'Aquiares' literally means 'land between rivers' in the indigenous Hueter language.

In 1890, Aquiares was founded by farmers looking to take advantage of Costa Rica’s new railroad to the port of Limón. The farm built its own mill, focusing on the washed-coffee processes that are indicative of Costa Rican coffee. Soon, the quality of Aquiares' coffee won it loyal clients in Europe, the United States and Japan.

The farm and the community are mutually connected. The farm provides services, land, security and honest jobs. In return, the coffee farm has benefited from a well-educated community and relies on highly skilled professionals from its community to continue functioning.

All their coffee is grown at a high altitude: from 820 to 1,400 meters (2,700 to 4,600 feet) above sea level. The terrain allows for varieties like Caturra to flourish in the rich volcanic soil, cool night temperatures and high humidity.

Their coffee is characterized by a distinctly sweet & 'fruity' flavor profile. Its profound aroma mixes chocolate and cinnamon beautifully, and gives way to a delicate citric acidity. The cup is well balanced, complex and full of character. Flavors last long as the cup finishes nice and clean.

The farm manages the entire production chain of its coffee. This starts with seedling production and continues through cultivation, bean picking and milling. Their success in managing the coffee production chain has been proven by our consistently high quality product.

Centroamericano: This F1 hybrid has well adapted its Ethiopian genes to the volcanic soils of Aquiares, and the shade of the fields. Natural Process: No pulp detached from bean followed by two days pre-drying on ceramic floors, and ten days in African raised beds, 28oC – 45oC range for final mechanical drying in Guardiola for one day.
